Results from the 2011 Twin Galaxies World Championships – I won!
I am the official winner of the 2011 Twin Galaxies World Championships! I won the Kinect, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 competitions overall, with a total of 44 world records set, kept 39 of them, and overall won 10/11 games I competed in (10/14 at the event). Here’s the breakdown of how I did throughout the weekend.
World Champion of Xbox 360 Kinect, 4/4 game wins:
#1 Kinect Adventures (2 world records, won 2/2)
#1 Child of Eden (set 2 world records, won 2/2)
#1 Dance Central (set around 8 world records, had the highest overall score and most songs won)
#1 Gunstringer (set 2 world records, won 1/2 and one 2nd place)
(This also puts me as the #1 Kinect player overall, including any competitors not at this event or any others since Kinect’s release last year. Only 2 additional titles have official world records tracked, and I have topped 4/6)
World Champion of Playstation 3, 2/3 game wins:
#1 Pacman DX (1 world record, won 1/1)
#1 Rock Band 3 (13 world records, had the highest overall score of around 370,000 I believe)
[Not #1] Modern Warfare 3 (1 world record most of Friday, and was defeated)
World Champion of Xbox 360, 3/5 game wins:
#1 Portal 2 (set 5 world records, won 5/5)
#1 Gears of War 3 (set 4 world records, won 4/6, did not compete in the other 2/6)
#1 Forza 4 (set 5 world records, won 2/5 and one 2nd place and two 3rd places, barely beating out another competitor who won 2/5 but placed slightly lower overall)
[Did not compete in Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition or NBA Jam]
Tied World Champion of Wii Play Motion (set 1 world record and won 1/2, did not compete in the second gametype)
[Did not compete in Just Dance 3]
It’s been a great event and I hope these victories have shown the high score community what I am capable of. The next Guinness Book of World Records will not only list these accomplishments but many more that I have been working on. My event winning 2.06 million point run in Pacman DX Saturday night was probably the happiest moment of my life, not just because I pulled off a feat that nearly every single one of us had all been hoping to see happen at this tournament, but because I feel like I have finally stepped up onto the next level and proven myself as one of the best single player gamers around right now.
Thank you all for your support and thank you to all of the competitors who challenged me to better myself throughout the weekend.
